SIZING (TALLAJE)
Not so much people know their hat size, but don't worry: it's easy, quick and will stay the same forever. Just lay a cloth measuring tape around your head - don't pull it too tight- about 1cm above your ears and across the mid-forehead. Do it several times for more accuracy. Take the measurement (in centimeters or inches) and get your size into the chart below. If you don't have a cloth measuring tape, take a string or a cord and find your size with a ruler. Please note if you are between two sizes, choose the next largest one. Too small hats can cause headache, but if it's a little too big, it can be compensated with two strips of cork -underneath the hat band- that will adjust your size perfectly. These cork strips are free delivered with every hat.
No todo el mundo conoce la talla de su cabeza, pero no te preocupes: es fácil, rápido y para toda la vida. Pon una cinta métrica (de costura o sastre) alrededor de tu cabeza -sin apretar demasiado- encima de tus orejas y a la mitad de la frente. Hazlo varias veces para mayor precisión. Mira la medida obtenida y hazte con tu talla mediante la siguiente tabla. Si no dispones de una cinta de costura, hazlo con una cuerda o cordón y un metro o regla. Si estás entre dos tallas, escoge la más grande. Un sombrero demasiado pequeño puede causar dolor de cabeza, pero si éste es un poco grande, se puede ajustar con dos tiras de corcho -colocadas debajo de la banda del sombrero- que van a ajustar tu talla perfectamente. Estas se entregan con todos los sombreros.
CARE (MANTENIMIENTO)
Never store your hat right side up on a flat surface. This could cause the brim to flatten. Store upside down on a clean surface or in a box. To remove surface dirt from a straw hat, wipe with a clean damp cloth. For a fur felt, use a soft brush starting on the left side of the hat repeatedly brushing counterclockwise toward the back. Because heat and perspiration will shrink the sweatband, avoid exposure to stoves, radiators, lamps and car windows. If your fur felt hat gets wet, turn down the leather sweatband and stand the hat on the sweatband to dry. Avoid resting the hat on its brim while wet. To keep the sweatband dry of perspiration and hairdressing, occasionally turn down the sweatband to dry when not being worn. Clean water and grease spots on fur felt with baby powder or cornstarch. Avoid all liquid cleaners. When removing your hat hold it by the brim, in front and back. Avoid handling the crown as much as possible.
No guardes tu sombrero en su posición natural en una superficie plana, ya que el ala puede deformarse. En vez de eso, ponlo boca arriba o sube todo el contorno del ala antes de guardarlo, en un sitio limpio o en una caja. Para quitar la suciedad de un sombrero de paja, límpialo con un paño limpio y húmedo. Para los sombreros de fieltro, usa un cepillo blando empezando por la parte izquierda del sombrero repetidamente en el sentido contrario a las agujas del reloj. Como el calor y el sudor pueden encoger el forro interior, evita dejar el sombrero cerca de estufas, radiadores, lámparas y ventanas de coche. Los sombreros de fieltro que se mojen, pueden secarse doblando la banda interior hacia afuera y dejarlos boca arriba hasta que se sequen. Nunca utilices productos de limpieza químicos. Cuando te pongas y quites el sombrero, agárralo por el ala, por delante y por detrás. Evita agarrarlo por la copa dentro de lo posible.
